Introducing a major breakthrough in food and biofuel production
The Alternative Fuels Corporation Pty Ltd (AFC) has developed technology to increase the capacity of ethanol plant operations while co-producing food grade yeast.
This co-production of ethanol and AFC Yeast is a major breakthrough in biofuel production.
Utilizing a typical ethanol plant, AFC technology has the following impacts:
-
Adds significantly to the production capacity of ethanol plants.
-
Produces large volumes of human food grade yeast, rich in protein.
Ethanol and protein nutrition co-production improves the costing logic and helps justify increased ethanol usage – it is more competitive in the food / resources tug-of-war.
The use of ethanol takes on a new significance – as it becomes more cost effective and more readily available:
-
Due to the additional revenue of coproduced yeast, the economics of ethanol production change dramatically.
-
Due to the ability to create high volumes of food grade yeast - at a cost lower than other producers - the use of yeast for protein applications becomes much more compelling.
The economics of yeast production and food usage opportunities also change dramatically.
The AFC mission is to commercialise its patented knowledge, processes and procedures to achieve two goals:
-
Create an abundant supply of new vegetable protein and complimentary nutrients as a base for food production, and
-
Dramatically increase the production of ethanol as a fuel alternative to fossil oil, without depleting agricultural crops.
